Klar is a family company founded in 1840. Philipp Klar dominated the art of soap boiling; he understood his business and enhanced his knowledge on his travels so that his products were accounted to be the best soaps in the world. Today, the company has passed into the hands of the fifth generation of the Klar family.
For over 170 years, the company has produced fine, high-quality soap products. In the Heidelberg factory an extraordinary balance between old and new reigns. On the one hand, the soaps are made according to old recipes and by traditional hand made methods, such as using 100-year-old soap moulds. On the other hand, modern knowledge in terms of functional and sustainable ingredients from the plant kingdom is also essential to the creation of Klar soaps.
All soap products, including shaving and men's soaps, are rolled five times during manufacture, forming a particularly compacted and effective soap.
