MÜHLE Safety razor, open comb, handle material stainless steel
Product description
-
  • Tooth-comb safety razor - classic blade
  • Handle and head made of stainless steel

It is only his tenth birthday and yet he is a legend: The R 41 requires finesse of true professionals with ambition. The serration is rather wide in comparison. In addition, the blade is positioned flat. Both make for an offensive wet shave, for which you should have a firm grip on the classic safety razor.

Until now, the MÜHLE razor with open comb has had a classic chrome look. But for its anniversary, the R 41 also comes in stainless steel. Many of our customers have requested this and we are very pleased to be able to fulfil this wish. It simply feels good in the hand because - as the GRANDE version - it has a slightly longer, more voluminous handle and a few grams more. The fine chasing also provides the right grip. Ready to go? The polished stainless steel ensures the usual shiny appearance of the legendary R 41.

The head and handle are made entirely of this particularly durable material in steel-surgical quality. This also makes this R 41 a sustainable and plastic-free alternative for your morning grooming ritual - right down to the packaging. This razor with cult status is particularly suitable for men with a relatively thick, strong beard. But lovers of the designer stubble will also enjoy it.

The Razorhead - Tooth-comb razor

The safety razor with open tooth comb was developed specially for practised wet shavers. Due to the principle of its construction, which features a special blade angle, the model allows a vigorous, very direct shaving technique.

As on safety razors with closed combs, the blade is held in place by the curvature of the cap. The combination of open tooth comb and a gap behind the foam edge ensures that the edge is kept free of stubble and residues. This innovative design also makes subsequent cleaning easier.

The shaving result is dependent on the factors beard growth, the density and length of the beard hair, and how these interact with the blade and safety razor. Some will achieve optimal results with a very sharp blade, while others can profit more from gentler blades.

When shaving, the safety razor should at first be drawn across the skin without applying any pressure at all. Shaving with the grain is often sufficient and renders a second shave in the opposite direction unnecessary. The skin should be stretched taut at all times.

The safety razor with its toothed foam edge is predestined for men with a denser, stronger beard growth or for those who prefer to sport three-day stubble. The model variants include handles made of white and black high-grade resin or with chrome-plated chasing.

The blades can be purchased from us and by retailers everywhere.

How to use
+

Shaving with a safety razor takes a bit of practice and your skin also needs some time to get used to a traditional wet shave. Here are some tips:

• As with any wet shave, the face should be previously washed and rinsed with warm water.

• Next, create a good lather on the area to be shaved with a shaving brush, using circular movements.

• The more thoroughly you foam the beard, the easier the subsequent shave will be.

• Make sure the razor head and handle are firmly fixed in place. However, the thread should be tightened only enough so that it can be loosened again without much effort.

• Now, start shaving. The razor should be placed on the skin at the lowest possible angle (about 30 °).

• Start in the area of the cheeks and only press lightly on the razor! Glide it over the skin.

• Always shave “with the grain”, namely in the direction of the growth of the beard.

• Shave the neck area by pulling the skin down a bit. Again, the following rules apply: flat angle, light pressure, short strokes, rinsing the razor regularly.

Don’t be discouraged by minor injuries, you're a hero, right? Experience has shown that injuries rarely occur after a period of familiarisation.
