The perfect shave with shaving cream or shaving soap
After cleansing your face, we come to the basis of the wet shave, the lather. Whether produced with shaving cream or shaving soap, the lather’s main task is to swell and soften the beard hair so that the razor blade can cut through it with little resistance.
Whether you use a shaving cream or shaving soap comes down to personal preference. For newcomers to wet shaving, we recommend using a shaving cream initially as these can lather a little easier.
Usually, shaving cream is lathered with a shaving brush. At first, it takes a little practice to find exactly how much water is needed for the best shave. The lather is properly formed when it is creamy without any air bubbles and your shaving brush almost stands up in the foam.
