Pre-shave preparation
Preparing the facial skin and the beard for shaving is one of the most important steps for a wet shave that does not irritate the skin.
The face must be cleansed of all impurities with a mild facial cleanser. Ideally, you should shave after showering. A facial cleanser or a face scrub not only cleanses the skin but also opens up the pores and softens the whiskers, making them easy to remove.
After cleansing your face, take a clean shaving towel: soak it in hot water for a few minutes and then apply to common problem areas when shaving (eg either side of the Adam's apple) for at least 30 seconds.
If required, you can also use a pre-shave oil or a pre-shave cream. Applied before lathering, these products also soften the whiskers and provide a well-lubricated surface for the razor to glide over.
