Tips for fighting dandruff

Unfortunately, many heroes have to grapple with dandruff but their fight is not in vain. Here are some tips to get rid of these annoying skin cells.

Never scratch!

This loosens flakes of skin which can then stick to your hair and clothing like unwanted hangers-on. Scratching not only makes dandruff worse but also damages your hair at the very roots. The consequences can be brittle hair and hair falling out due to dandruff.

Don't use harsh shampoos or styling products that contain harmful ingredients!

Wax products, gels and pomades containing alcohol work well on normal hair types. However, if you're struggling with dandruff, you shouldn't really resort to hair styling products. These can have a severe dehydrating effect on your scalp, weakening the skin barrier and promoting the formation of dandruff. Korres - Laurel and Echinacea-Shampoo is a lightweight, moisturising styling product made of natural ingredients. Also, Clay Matte Pomade by Reuzel produces great styling results without putting any unnecessary strain on your scalp.

Don't stress!

Many sufferers notice that their dandruff gets worse when they're stressed. Having an immune system that's weakened through stress a clear effect on the severity of dandruff. So don't over-burden yourself with worries! There are effective ways to effectively fight dandruff.

Eat smart!

According to the trichologist Philip Kingsley, a diet that's too high in fat, salt or sugar can promote dandruff. An unbalanced diet can cause changes to the various individual scalp secretions. This is dangerous because these secretions help to keep bacteria and other foreign bodies at bay.

Use an anti-dandruff shampoo!

Specially produced products contain ingredients such as zinc pyrithione, ketoconazole, Piroctone Olamine or salicylic acid, which have been proven to fight fungi on the scalp and loosen skin cells that have stuck together. They also remove excess grease from your hair. We recommend the Deep Clean Shampoo by Baxter of California. This Deep Clean Shampoo is a clarifying formula which uses Apple Cider Vinegar to remove styling residue; it’s sulfate-free to protect hair, and is packed with ginseng and menthol for a unique scent. The salicylic acid along with vitamin B5 in Korres' Laurel and Echinacea Anti-Dandruff Shampoo removes all dead skin cells and reduces scalp itching. The choice is yours!

Use this shampoo regularly!

Regular washing the scalp has a degreasing effect and reduces the oils that promote the formation of dandruff. The best way is to massage the shampoo deep into your hair, without scratching your scalp and irritating it. Leave it to soak in for a couple of minutes and then rinse with water. If one shampoo doesn't have the desired effect after some time of using it, try a different product to stimulate the scalp in a different way.

Spend more time outside!

Studies have shown that men who spend more time in the fresh air aren't as prone to dandruff as those who spend less time outdoors.

Just think about it!

Dandruff is annoying but treatable! Anti-dandruff shampoos not only ensure a healthy scalp but also give you beautifully shiny and smooth hair without any annoying dandruff.
